Cala Ratjada is surrounded by beautiful beaches and coves bathed in the Mediterranean sea. This is where the sun rises every morning, therefore it is the first place that wakes up to life in Majorca.
Cala Agulla is only 5 minutes´ walk away from our hotel HSM Regana. This precious, white sandy beach is surrounded by the pine forest and it looks like paradise. Once you get there and you lie down, you will feel like in heaven.
But do not take it too easy, Cala Ratjada has so much more to offer. You can take a walk following the new pathway called “Ruta de la mar” (which means “The sea route”), it goes from Cala Mesquida to Canyamel, the path is just next to the sea and you will be able to visit all the beaches of Capdepera municipality. The route is well indicated by original wooden sign posts with a blue plate. Do not worry if you cannot make it to do the whole route, just enjoy your walk near the sea. We recommend you to start in our hotel and follow until you reach the white lighthouse of Cala Ratjada. It is really worth seeing.
But Cala Ratjada is much more than only beautiful beaches. On the top of Puig de Capdepera peak there is the Capdepera castle, situated only 4 km away from our hotel. The fortress has an original triangle shape. Once you get to the entrance, climb the hill until you reach the highest point where the castle chapel is situated. You will be amazed with the spectacular view over Majorcan landscape from its viewpoint.
The castle hosts many interesting events during the whole year thanks to being so close to the village of Capdepera. One of the most important events is undoubtedly the Medieval Market, held on the third weekend in May. In the middle of July the festivity of Carmen takes place, and later on in August the village celebrates festivities of Saint Roc and Saint Bartomeu.
As Cala Ratjada has gained an important place among the most popular and well known resorts of Majorca, you will obviously find there a big variety of restaurants, bars, shopping areas, as well as water sports and golf courses (Capdepera Golf course is situated only 10 minutes´drive from our hotel).
